Abstract

A junction box for connecting cables to communal aerials includes a housing presenting sockets for receiving co-axial plugs of the aerial leads on its upper face. The lower face of the housing has recesses in which input and output cables locate, the ends of the cables passing through apertures in the housing and being attached by connector boxes to the bases of the sockets. A clamping plate is provided to hold the cables in position. The cables can be easily connected to the junction box Pref. the recesses are parallel and the input and output cables enter the junction box from opposite sides. Pref. the housing is of synthetic material e.g. ABS and electrical contacts are provided by metallic coatings on the housing.
