Abstract

363,799. Junction boxes. SIMPLEX CONDUITS. Ltd. and McLOUGHLIN, H. F., Simplex Works, Garrison Lane, Birmingham. Dec. 2, 1930, No. 36244. [Class 38 (i).] A ceiling or wall box is formed of two sheet metal pressings a<1>, a<2> of identical shape welded together edge to edge, each having gaps a<5>, a<6> that register to form the cable inlet holes. In these holes are fitted ferrules a that may be made in two halves dovetailed together as described in Specification 354,335, the holes not in use being closed by stoppers c. The ferrules and stoppers have flanges e<2>, c<2> attached by spot-welding to the box, and this connection may be the sole means of securing together the two halves of the box. The upper half is pierced to give access to the interior, lugs being left for the attachment of a cover.
