475,719. Steam turbines; powergenerating systems. RUTHS INTERNATIONAL ACCUMULATORS, Ltd. April 6, 1937, No. 9785. Convention date, April 11, 1936. [Classes 110 (iii) and 122 (iii)] [Also in Group XIII] In a power plant comprising boilers 1 supplying superheated steam through a line 2, to consumers 3, steam not taken by the consumers or by a high-pressure accumulator 4, 5 is condensed in a low-pressure accumulator 11, from which heated water is supplied to the boilers or to the high-pressure accumulator. Water is supplied to the high-pressure accumulator by a pump 15 and is circulated by a pump 7 through a jacket 6 surrounding the steam line and connected by flow and return pipes to a tank 4. Steam generated in the jacket flows from the tank 4 to a superposed tank 5, from which it flows through a reducing valve 9 into the line 2 when the pressure on the line falls. The flow of water through the jacket 6 is regulated by a valve 8 controlled by the boiler steam temperature. A valve 12 regulating the supply of water to the low-pressure. accumulator allows more water to enter when the pressure in line rises.
