Abstract

198,902. Elliott, W. S. May 29, 1922. Feed-water, supplying and controlling.-A feedwater heater and de-aerator system comprises in combination a prime-mover and its condenser, a heater for the make-up water with means for maintaining a constant level therein, an evaporator connected both to the heater and to the condenser, and a connection with automatically controlled flow between the evaporator and the hot well of the condenser. A heater 6 with direct steam 9 has a float-controlled valve 10 in its supply pipe 7 and supplies heated water through a float-controlled connection 18 to an evaporator 14 connected by the pipe 23 to the main condenser 3' of a prime mover 2, such as a steam turbine. A float-controlled valve 19 in a pipe 18 serves to regulate the flow of de-aerated water to the hot well 4. Specification 155,884, [Class 1 (i), Chemical processes &c.], is referred to.
