[Class 39 (i)] In an amplifying, modulating, or frequencychanging valve two or more control grids G<1>, G2, G3, are connected in parallel either within or externally of the envelope ; screens E<1> E2, E3 separate the grids from each other and the anode, and a suppressor grid g is used. In modifications a mixer valve also includes the anode and grid G<1>, Fig. 5, of the local oscillatory circuit, The grids may be given independent potentials and they may have leads to separate terminals for varying their connections.
