Abstract
460,265. Magnets; electromagnets. YOUNG, L., and YOUNG, A., (trading as VITAVOX ACOUSTICS). June 26, 1936, No. 18921. Divided out of 460,264. [Class 35] [Also in Group XXXIX] In a magnet-system comprising a polepiece 5 secured to a magnetic plate 4 and extending into an aperture 2 in a spaced plate 1 to form an annular air gap 6, the plates are provided with steps 3, 7 concentric with the aperture 2 and the polepiece 5 and engaged by the ends of a tubular member 8 of non-magnetic material. A ring 9 of magnetic material is arranged between the plates 1, 4 and the assembly is clamped by bolts 10. The steps may be replaced by flanges or grooves on the plates and the polepiece 5 may be integral with the plate 4 or secured to it by a threaded extension or by a screwed bolt. The tubular member 8 may be spaced from the ring 9 in order to accommodate an energizing coil for the magnet.
