Abstract
762,876. Electromagnets. FRANCAIS, ETAT. Oct. 12, 1953 [Oct. 13, 1952], No. 28083/53. Class 35. [Also in Group XXIX] An electromagnetic device for progressively operating a valve 8 comprises a winding 6 through which a variable excitation current can be passed to generate a magnetic flux, and an elastic valve control member, such as the membrane 1, made at least partly of magnetic material and connected to the body 2 of the device to complete a path for the magnetic flux, the arrangement being such that the member 1 can be magnetically saturated and thereby caused to effect selected valve openings for selected values of the excitation current. The membrane 1 is of magnetic alloy steel and is attached to the open end of a pot magnet 2 having a central core 5 on which the coil 6 is wound. In a modification a small plate of magnetic alloy steel is mounted on the interior face of the membrane. Specification 762,875 is referred to.
