Abstract
744,858. Valves. GIRDLESTONE PUMPS, Ltd. July 29, 1954 [July 29, 1953], No. 21010/53. Class 135. A valve, e.g. for the outlet of a diaphragm pump, comprises an annular seat 3 which is either a magnet itself or has a magnet or magnets associated therewith, and a closure ball of magnetic material, e.g. iron. Both the seat and the ball may be coated with a non-magnetic, resilient material such as polyethylene. The movement of the ball is limited by a bar 9.
