490,010. Sound-reproducing devices; magnets. HAUSDORF, E. Feb. 4, 1937, No. 3291. Convention date, Feb. 4, 1936. [Class 40 (iv)] [Also in Group XXXV] In a magnet assembly for moving-coil apparatus, having an external contour which is convex, triangular or trapezoidal in cross-section and having a poleplate b superimposed on a permanent magnet a of appropriate shape, the plate b has a central portion of reduced width on both sides of the centre polepiece c and has a portion b<1> of increased thickness around the aperture formed in the poleplate. The portion of the centre polepiece in contact with the permanent magnet is milled or knurled. The magnet is made of cobalt or oerstite steel and the gap may be provided with a magnetic or magnetizable lining.
