Abstract

Abstract A magnetic separating device having a slide-able magnetic core within a non-magnetic tube wherein both the magnetizing and pole piece elements are of a ring type for mounting upon a threaded either non-magnetic or magnetisable iron or steel rod. The arrangement of the said ring type magnetizing elements and pole pieces are retained by nuts on the said threaded rod and in which the distance between said elements may be adjusted by movement of nuts along the threaded rod. Claims (5)

1. A magnetic separating device having a slide-able magnetic core within a non-magnetic tube wherein both the magnetizing and pole piece elements are of a ring type for mounting upon a threaded either non-magnetic or magnetisable iron or steel rod.
2. A magnetic separating device having a slide-able magnetic core within a non-magnetic tube wherein the arrangement of the said ring type magnetizing elements and pole pieces are retained by nuts on the said threaded rod and in which the distance between said elements may be adjusted by movement of nuts along the threaded rod.
3. A magnetic separating device having a slide-able magnetic core within a non-magnetic tube wherein the arrangement of the said ring type magnetizing elements and pole pieces may be of chosen length by reason of the number of rings used and retained.
4. A magnetic separating device as described in claims 1 to 3 wherein the pole pieces are comprised of soft iron or mild steel washers and/or tubes of either the same or different thickness so as to facilitate provision of pole pieces of a preferred length.
5. A magnetic separating device as described in claims 1 to 4 wherein the preferably rare earth magnetising elements are rings added together on the said threaded rod between the said pole pieces so as to facilitate provision of a slide-able magnetic core of a preferred combination or length.
