Abstract
457,640. Piston-rings. WELLWORTHY PISTON RINGS, Ltd., Stanford Road, Lymington, Hampshire.-(Solenberger, D. M. ; 1966, East 66th Street, Cleveland, Ohio, U.S.A.) June 12, 1936, No. 16424. [Class 122 (i)] In piston-rings comprising split laminations 7 expanded by a spring 4 at least one lamination is of ferrous metal and another of aluminium or aluminium alloy. The aluminium laminations are preferably placed between wrought iron or steel. Suitable materials are steels having a carbon content of 0À15 per cent to 0À25 per cent or 0À65 per cent to 0À76 per cent and the material known under the Registered Trade Mark " Duralumin." The ring dimensions and method of selecting suitable materials are as described in Specification 457,639. Specifications 427,256, 435,359,451,334, and 457,612 also are referred to.
