E., Lloyds Buildings, Fawcett Street, Sunderland. March 16, 1934, No. 8396. [Class 122 (i)] A forged mild steel piston A is provided with a steel sleeve B, having a hardness similar to that of cast iron, in which the ring grooves are formed. The sleeve is spaced from the piston head and is preferably shrunk on to the piston, the material of which is forced into serrations D in the sleeve.
