Abstract

1401362 Hammer mills ABEX CORP 26 June 1972 [14 July 1971] 29894/72 Heading B2A A hammer for a hammer mill is made of austenitil manganese steel with the region 35, Fig 2, 44, Fig 4, around the pivot eye projecting axially of the eye on each side of the hammer and being work-hardened to a Brinell Hardness of 440-480. The mill may include a screen, Fig 1 (not shown). The inner diameter of the extra metal or thickened ring part 35 is chamfered as at 36 Fig 2 to facilitate application of hammer blows to the areas around the ends of the eye without hardening the interior of the eye.
