Abstract
489,896. Bushes for bung-holes. MAUSER, K. W., MAUSER, R., and MAUSER, A. Aug. 20, 1937, No. 22859. [Class 21] A bung bush is made of two different metals, a portion a, Figs. 1, 4 and 7, being deformable, and the other portion, b, being non-deformable and preferably die-cast. The part a may be an iron ring and the part b may be cast round it. The foot d of the ring may be expanded. Circular or trapezoidal openings may be formed in the ring a to give better cohesion to the part b. In the form shown in Fig. 7 the ring a carries the thread ; when the ring is threaded previous to assembly the press-die is threaded so that it threads the metal b when this is cast round the part a. Packing i secures the joint. In one construction, the body o is die-cast and the deformable ring p is cast in the bush body. A further form is shown in Fig. 11.
