Abstract

Cylinders, liners for. -The cylinder liner is formed in two parts, which are pressed into one another, and held together by bars such as h, Fig. 2, forced or shrunk into grooves formed in the side of the liner. The portion c of the liner subject to high temperature is of cast or forged steel, whereas the portion d subject to piston friction is of cast-iron.
