[Class 7 (ii).] A two-stroke cylinder has a head 2 and a skirt 4 of a wear-resisting material, e.g. cast steel or cast iron, and an intermediate part 3 including the exhaust ports 8 of a metal having high heat conductivity, e.g. an aluminium alloy. Strips 12 of wear-resisting metal, e.g. steel or aluminium bronze, may be inserted in dovetailed grooves in the part 3.
