Abstract
453,683. Siphon-discharge water-wastepreventers. AGERHOLM, F., 4, Sundvej, Horsens, Denmark. Nov. 28, 1935, No. 33020. [Class 26] In a siphon-discharge water-waste-preventer in which flushes of different magnitudes can be effected by admitting air to the bell, the latter is provided with a rotary valve g, Fig. 1, having pins i which project into the paths of movement of levers q, r, Figs. 1, 2, or stirrups carried thereby, and are consequently rotated by one lever or the other to open or close the valve depending upon which lever is operated. The valve comprises two cylinders, having apertures disposed opposite an aperture c in the bell, and having an air-admission pipe e adjustable as regards length by a threaded portion f. The levers q, r have independent pulls s, t and are mounted upon the spindle o upon which the bell-lever n is also mounted; when either lever s or t is operated it engages a pin p on the lever n to lift the bell, and if the pin i at the side of the operated lever be in its lowered position, the valve also will be operated. In another form, Fig. 5, the levers q, r are situated above the pins and are connected thereto by stirrups v and the lever n is of the second order and has pins y for engagement with the levers q, n; the common pivot o is disposed on the cistern-lid so that the levers and valve which has a position-limiting nut u form a removable unit.
