Piston and tubular valves; actuating-mechanism.-A stop valve comprises a sleeve sliding over a fixed piston in which the ports are formed, and the valve is operated by toggle mechanism. A disc c carried by the spindle g carries a sleeve d which slides over a fixed piston e so as to control the ports f. A number of small apertures h are formed in the disc c so that the pressures are balanced. The valve is operated through toggle mechanism i the movement of which is limited by stops k. The position of the valve in relation to its seat may be adjusted by means of nuts m on either side of a crosshead l. Lubricant may be supplied through a pipe o.
