Abstract

225,966. Shaw, J. Sept. 27, 1923. Piston valves. - A stop valve particularly adapted for hydraulic work has a piston valve member formed in two parts pressed apart by an annular metallic spring. The valve member works in a cylindrical liner 0 provided with outlet ports C and held against a ported partition N by the bonnet K. The two parts F of the valve member are arranged between flanges G, G<1> on the valve spindle and are acted on by a spring I. A split or complete packing ring H is fitted in a groove in the valve member. A port J connects the space above the valve member to the outlet. According to the Provisional Specification grub screws, keys and key way may be fitted to prevent relative rotation of the parts. The valve may be actuated by a lever.
