Abstract

452,274. Drying-apparatus. PEHRSON, J. M., and PEHRSON, R. V., 18, Regeringsgatan, Stockholm. April 7, 1936, No. 10275. Convention date, July 31, 1935. [Class 34 (ii)] In apparatus for drying fibrous or other material of the kind in which a current of hot gas carries the material through a conduit, and i.n which a rotating, bladed device is provided for throwing forward the heavier parts of the material, the rotating device 16, Fig. 3, is housed in a chamber 6 which tapers upwards to where it merges into the conduit 9 ; as shown, the gas stream may enter the chamber tangentially through the conduit 8. The material is fed by a fan 1, Fig. 2, to a hopper 2 from which it is fed by a worm 3 to the chamber 6. Hot gas is fed from a furnace by the pipe 8 and is drawn through the conduit 9 by a fan 10, passing to a cyclone 12.
