Abstract

411,121. Centrifugal dust-extractors. ALLEN, R. H., 19, Makepeace Avenue, Highgate, London. Nov. 30, 1932, No. 33946. [Class 23.] A centrifugal dust-extractor of the cyclone type has a body 1, 3 of circular cross section and an inlet duct 2 tapering from circular to rectangular cross section. The clean gas outlet 6 has a sleeve 7 at its lower end which can be adjusted in position by means of nuts 10 on bolts 8. The distance from the bottom A of the outlet to the nearest point B of the gas inlet duct 2 is greater than BC the larger dimension of the duct cross section. The diameter AD of the lower end of the outlet is greater than half the diameter EF of the body 1, 3 at its widest part. In a modification the lower end of the outlet tube is bell-mouthed.
