Abstract

411,122. Centrifugal dust-extractors. ALLEN, R. H., 19, Makepeace Avenue, Highgate, London. Nov. 30, 1932, No. 33197/33. Divided on 411,121. [Class 23.] A dust extractor of the cyclone type has an inlet duct 2 tapering from circular to rectangular cross section and having its inner, or lower side, or both, prolonged into the body of the extractor. In the form shown, the inner side of the duct meets the casing at the point 12, and an extension wall 13 with a flange 14 constituting an extension of the lower side is hinged at this point. The extension can be adjusted in position by an external handle, or by automatic means such as springs or counterweights acting in opposition to the pressure of gas on the extension. The inlet duct is curved before it meets the wall of the extractor and its curvature gradually increases from the point 15 to the point 12 where it has the same curvature as the extractor wall.
