Abstract
451,953. Photographic shutters. I. G. FARBENINDUSTRIE AKT.-GES., Frankfort-on-Main, Germany. Feb. 13, 1935, No. 4662. Convention date, Feb. 13, 1934. [Class 98 (i)] Delay-action mechanism for a shutter comprises a driving spring and adjustment lever connected through a friction clutch with the clockwork mechanism of the shutter. The lever 3 fits on a square spindle 6 and has a bore 7 in which the end 8<a> of the friction spring 8 fits. The other end of the spring 8 presses against the inner periphery of a toothed wheel 9 which is connected to toothed wheels 10, 11 of the delay-action mechanism. The tension spring 12 is attached to the notched end 6a of the shaft 6. A lever 14 is pivoted at 14d and is forced by a spring 19 so that its arm 14e engages the semicircular shoulder 13 on the spindle of the actuating lever 3. When the lever 3 is moved, the lever 14 is released and the noses 74a, 14b move to engage with the release lever 15 of the shutter and a crescent-shaped shoulder 16 on the shutter blade 18 respectively. The lever 3 returns slowly under the action of the spring 12 and the shoulder 13 rotates the lever 14 about its pivot to release the shoulders 16, 15a and allow the shutter to operate. A projection 14c simultaneously stops the escapement 20, 21 of the clockwork mechanism.
