Abstract
431,916. Photographic shutters. VOIGTLANDER & SOHN AKT.-GES., 7, Campestrasse, Brunswick, Germany. Jan. 21, 1935, Nos. 2003 and 2004. Convention dates, Jan. 24, 1934 and May 11, 1934. [Class 98 (i)] In a pivoted blade symmetrical opening shutter the wheels of the retarding or delay action mechanism for regulating the exposure time or for actuating the shutter after a predetermined time interval are disposed with their planes perpendicular to the plane end walls of the shutter casing. As shown, fixed to the circumferential wall 2 of an annular shutter casing having plane end walls 1 is a housing 3 mounted in which is an arbor 4 carrying a setting lever 5 and a gear 7 carrying a pin 19 extending through an arcuate slot 20 into the shutter casing to act on the motorreleasing detent. To another pin carried by the gear 7 is secured one end of a spring 6 fixed at the other end to the lug carrying the arbor 4. Loosely mounted on a bolt 8 is a pinion 9 connected through a one-way clutch with a gear 10 connected through gears 11, 12, 13, 14 with an escapement wheel 161 engaging an anchor 16 mounted on a bolt 15. The gear wheels may be pressed into slightly spherical shape. In a modification, the motor-releasing detent is engaged by a lug secured to a housing mounted on the arbor 4 and containing the spring 6. In further modifications, the mechanism may be partly or wholly located in the shutter casing. In another mechanism the spring is located in a flange on the setting lever, and the pivot of the setting lever has teeth engaging a rack provided with a hook engaging the motor-releasing detent.
