Abstract

449,937. Vapour burners. EHRICH & GRAETZ AKT.-GES., 90, Elsenstrasse, Berlin. May 31, 1935, No. 15909. Convention date, May 8. [Class 75 (i)] The vaporizer 4 of a paraffin burner heating an incandescent mantle or a heat-radiating device is heated initially by an atomizing burner comprising coaxial nozzles 10, 12 carried by a body 7 secured to the fuel container 1. Compressed air passes from the fuel container through a passage 14 to the nozzle 10 and induces a flow of fuel through a pipe 8 to the nozzle 12. The mixture is ignited as it issues from the nozzle 12 and is directed by a flame tube 21 on to the vaporizer 4. The atomizing burner is shut off when the main burner has been ignited by means of a disc 20 of hard rubber carried by a hand lever 16 which is held in the open or closed position by a spring- pressed bolt 18. The fuel channel in the body 7 may be formed with a restriction 13<a> or the channel and fuel pipe 8 may be made of small diameter to impose a resistance on the flow of fuel to the nozzle 12.
