Abstract

425,817. Fusing and working silica. BENOIT, F. P. C., 41, Rue de Prony, Paris. Aug. 18, 1934, No. 23853. Convention date, Nov. 18, 1933. Addition to 416,452. [Class 56] [See also Group XXIX] A spray pistol for the apparatus described in the parent Specification has grouped within the gun casing 91 a burner having an axial passage 64, Fig. 4, for the powder-laden stream of air, nozzles 65 for the delivery of the comburent and combustible gases, an annular mixing chamber 86 around the axial passage and communicating with the nozzles, and means for supplying the gases to the mixing chamber. The combustible mixture is produced in a chamber 95 to which the gases are led by tubes 71, 77. The powder-laden stream of air is led to a chamber 97 formed in two parts and containing helicoidal blades for giving a whirl in the air stream. The powder laden air stream and gases are simultaneously regulated by the three-way cock 96 mounted in the hand grip and shown in detail in Fig. 5. This comprises two lift valves 108, 1O8<a> for the air and combustible gasrespectively and a cock 25 for the powder laden air stream, the arrangement being such that on turning the handle 103 first the valve 108a for the air, then the valve 108 for the combustible gas and finally the cock 25 are opened. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 contains the subject-matter of Specification 425,449, [Group XXIX]. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
