458,632. Vapour burners. EHRICH & GRAETZ AKT.-GES., 90, Elsenstrasse, Berlin. Feb. 11, 1936, No. 4161. Convention date, Feb. 11, 1935. [Class 75 (i)] A lighting, heating, or cooking apparatus comprises a vapour burner in which the vaporizer is heated initially by burning a mixture of atomized fuel and compressed air and the ingress of fuel to the vaporizer is controlled by a valve which, when in the closed position, will lift if the pressure in the vaporizer exceeds that in the fuel container. In the lamp shown, the flow of the fuel from the container 1 to the vaporizer 3 is controlled by a valve 23 pressed towards its seating 25 by a spring 24. By rotating a spindle 27 a thrust rod 22 is operated to open the valve 23 and a cleaning needle 20 carried by a rod 19 is withdrawn from the vapour nozzle 4. The preheating burner comprises a fuel cup 15 surrounding concentric nozzles 8, 9. When a valve 7 is opened air from the container 1 issues from the nozzle 8 and mixes in the nozzle 9 with fuel entering from the cup 15 through a passage 16. A flame tube 17 formed with an igniting aperture 18 directs the burning mixture on to the vaporizer 3. The nozzles 8, 9 are formed with engaging surfaces 10, 12, the surface 10 having grooves or flats 14 for the passage of the fuel. A notch in the operating disc 26 of the spindle 27 indicates the position of the valve 23 and needle 20. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 270,903, [Class 75 (i)].
