[Class 37] In a variable inductance for permeability tuning having separate coils L, S for long and short waves, the coils are spaced apart on a tubular former E of non-magnetic material, which is movable longitudinally in a gap between parts A, B of the core. The inner part B of the core is provided with insulating extensions C, D on each side. The cross-section of the parts A, B may be circular or rectangular ; in the latter case, the outer member A may be provided on the larger sides only of the rectangular section of B.
