[Class 136 (iii)] In a cycle &c. saddle of the type in which the top a is pivoted at d to an underframe c, the top a is also supported by a rod k pivoted to it at l. The rod k passes centrally through a tube e secured to the underframe c, and its lower end is connected to the lower end of a tension spring i, the upper end of which engages s c r e wthreads in the end of the tube e, so that it may be screwed in and out for adjustment. The rod k may also be controlled by a compression spring n interposed between a cross-pin &c. m and the upper end of the tube e. The tube e is clamped in the seat tube of the cycle frame f as a saddle pin. The tilt of the top a may be varied by adjusting the tube e in the underframe c by means of a screw clamp &c. o; or for the same purpose the rod k may be made in two parts having right and left-hand screw-threads connected by a rotary sleeve, whereby the length of the rod may be adjusted.
