Sept. 29, 1930, No. 29134. [Class 136 (iii).] In a spring frame for cycles, of the type composed of front and rear sections pivoted together at or adjacent to the crank bracket 8, the rear end of the top bar 1 of the front section 1, 2, 3 is shaped to the form of an arc concentric with the pivot 12, and telescopes within a corresponding arcuate guide 7 carried by the seat tube 4, under the control of a compression spring within the guide 7. The spring may be of volute form, and is adjusted by means of a screw 23. The pin of the pivot 12 passes through a forked member 9 on the crank bracket 8, and an eye on the member 3, and is removable, so that the two parts of the frame can be readily separated for transport &c. A ball &c. bearing may be incorporated at the pivot. The rear end of the top tube 1 may be bifurcated, the guide 7 being then of corresponding twin formation.
