403,303. Folding chairs. HALL, T., E., 246, Shortheath Road, Erdington, Birming- ham. (Hall, H. W.; Walgett, New South Wales, Australia.) June 8, 1933, No. 16421. [Class 52 (ii). In a folding chair comprising frames 1, 2, pivoted at 3, and provided with a strut frame 7, the lower member 6 of which is adapted to engage in notches 4 in the frame 2, locking means are provided which comprise a transverse member 16 pivotally mounted between the longitudinal members of the frame 2, to which is secured a radial member 23, the end of which rests on the lower transverse member 25 of the frame 2. The member 23 passes through a slot in a plate 29 secured to the member 6, and a pin 28 loosely secured to the plate 29 is adapted to be engaged in holes 27 in the member 23. Each of the holes 27 corresponds to one pair of notches 4. Alternatively the notches 4 may be dispensed with.
