227,663. Ware, W. I. B. Feb. 29, 1924. Folding seats; rests, back. - A back rest for use with a groundsheet 15 consists of a detachably hinged prop 4 and two crossed bars 1, 2 halved at the middle so as to make a flush junction. The groundsheet has eyelet holes to receive pins on the bars. The leaf 7 of the hinge is pivoted at one end to the bar 1 at 8, and the other end engages detachably with a pin 10 on the bar 2. By turning the hinge about the pivot 8 the prop can be disengaged from the pin 10, and the members taken apart. They can be re-assembled as shown in Fig. 3 and the ground-sheet wrapped round them. Forms suitable for construction in wood or aluminium, and a modified form of hinge are described.
