Abstract

390,770. Motor-cycles. FICHTEL & SACHS AKT.-GES., 26, Schultesstrasse, Schweinfurt, Germany. Nov. 10, 1932, No. 31834. Convention date, Nov. 10, 1931. [Class 79 (iii).] In a detachable engine mounting for cycles of the type in which the engine is adapted to be adjusted about a pivot to permit adjustment of the driving chain, the engine is adjusted in the plane of the frame by means of an inclined guide or slot, and lateral movement is prevented by a movable guide member abutting against the frame. The crank case 8 of the engine is pivoted at 7 to a lug 6 near the crank bracket, and the gear case 11 is provided with a projection to which are fixed a pair of guideplates 12 provided with rubber covers 14 and adapted to embrace the seat tube 10. A link 22 of U-shaped cross-section is pivoted to the engine at 21, and is provided with an inclined or eccentric slot 26 engaging a bolt 27 passing through a lug 23 on a clip 24, so that the engine mounting can be adjusted about the pivot 7 by means of a screw 28 engaging the link 22 and bearing at its end against the lug 23. The lower support 19 of the silencer 15 also turns about the pivot bolt 7.
