Abstract

196,699. Lowenthal, A. E. Jan. 28, 1922. Seat attachments.-A pillion seat for motorcycles, in which a seat 1 is supported on a lower frame by springs 9 is fitted with a guide-rod 14 sliding in a bridge-piece 10 to prevent lateral movement. The seat frame is constructed of horizontal end strips 2 and vertical side strips 4, and it has a transverse reinforcing-strip 5 attached to each strip 4 and to the middle of the seat. The lower frame comprises horizontal end strips 8 and vertical side strips 7 capable of being attached to a motor-cycle carrier by spring hooks 19 tightened thereto by bolts 17 sliding by squared portions in transverse slots.
