Abstract

347,067. Cycle spring frames. KREBS, R., Rothristerstrasse, Oftringen, Aargau, Switzerland. July 21, 1930, No. 21958. [Class 136 (iii).] A spring mounting for the handle-bar stem of a motor or other cycle comprises both a compression spring and a tension spring. A sleeve 5 is clamped to the handle-bar 7 at 6 and is supported on a collar 15, which slides in a sleeve 4 within the head tube 2 and is guided by a central rod 8, the movement being controlled by a compression spring 17 and a tension spring 18, the upper end of which is secured to a disc 16 on the upper end of the rod 8. The lower end of the rod 8 is non-rotatablv secured in the crown of the fork 1 by means of a pin 12 and a nut 13 on a threaded extension 10 of the rod, the nut 13 also securing the mudguard 14. Lubrication is effected through a hole 20 in a plug 21 and holes 22 in the disc 16 and the collar 15.
