Abstract

457,019. Handle-bars. KIMBERLEY, F. A., and JAMES CYCLE CO., Ltd., Gough Road, Greet, Birmingham. June 22, 1936, No. 17309. [Class 136 (iii)] A device for detachably clamping a cycle &c. handlebar to its stem, and for enabling adjustment of the handle-bar without removing the attachment clip or clamp, comprises a U-shaped strip 3 adapted to embrace the handle-bar 2 and to be secured to the top of the stem 1 by a screw or headed stud 4, which may be the usual bolt for clamping the slit lower end of the stem 1 in the fork stem, the strip 3 being provided with two spaced rods 8, which pass on either side of the stem 1 through the ends of a plate 9 engaging the stem 1 and are threaded to receive clamping-nuts 10. A distance-piece 11 is interposed between the handle-bar and stem.
