Abstract
925,869. Sliding jaw clamps. BIRMING- HAM MUDGUARD CO. Ltd. April 27, 1960 [April 27, 1959; Sept. 11, 1959], Nos. 14230/59 and 31006/59. Class 44. A stay 15, Fig. 1, is secured to either side of a cycle mudguard 1 by a metal strip 2 having upturned ends 3, 4, each of which is apertured (6) for accommodating the bolt 13 of a bolt, nut and clamping plate assembly 13, 14, 7, Fig. 2. When in clamping engagement each strip end 3, 4 grips the associated lower edge of the mudguard 1 whilst the appropriate stay 15 is held between the abutting surfaces of the strip end and the plate 7. In another construction each end 16, Fig. 6, of the strip 2 is apertured at 20 to receive a bolt 22 which embodies a hole 26 for locating a stay 15. Each lower edge of the mudguard is gripped between a strip end 16 and a suitably shaped plate 18 by screw means 24, 23, 22.
