Abstract

853,235. Walk-type tractors. SHAY Ltd., J. E., and ARNOT, A. E. March 25, 1959 [March 28, 1958], No. 10081/58. Class 79(1). A walk-type tractor has handle-bars 26 Fig. 4 with a transverse central portion 27 which is adjustably clamped to a mounting plate 12 on the tractor body. The'clamp 19 is closed by a handle operated cam 25 Fig. 1 pivoted to a pin 22 passing through the clamp and screwed into the mounting plate 12. The central portion 27 of the handle bars is serrated to engage corresponding serrations 20 in the clamp 19. Further serrations 15, 18 on the plate 12 and clamp 19 serve to locate the clamp 19 at selected angular positions when the handle-bars 26 are used to one side of the tractor.
