Abstract

937,659. Sights for smallarms. BIRMING- HAM SMALL ARMS CO. Ltd. May 17, 1960 [May 19, 1959], No. 16884/59. Class 119. A sight, for a smallarm having a dovetail mounting part 2, comprises a tubular body 3 with an extension 4 having substantially flat and parallel sides 5 which adjacent the body 3 merge into part-cylindrical recesses 6. A pair of clamping members 7 are arranged on each side of the extension 4 and are shaped as shown to engage in the recesses 6 and to grip on each side of the dovetail mounting part 2, when a nut 12 is tightened on a screw 11 passing through aligned holes in the members 7 and extension 4. A resilient pad or washer 13 may be interposed between one clamping member 7 and a side of the extension 4 to permit fitting the sight to dovetail mounting parts of different widths.
