A nut comprises a body 6 with a screwedbore 8, and a tool-engaging-part 7 joined to the body and formed with a larger plain-bore 9, there being a weakened-portion between parts 6, 7, e.g. a neck 5, which will shear at a predetermined tightening-torque applied to part 7.
