Abstract

658,726. Detachable wheel mountings for cycles. JUY, L. C. H. July 5, 1949, No. 17730. Convention. date, July 9, 1948. [Class 136 (ii) ] In securing means for cycle hubs of the type in which a hollow hub spindle 1 is engaged by an inner spindle 3 the longitudinal movement of which clamps the frame-lugs 11, 12 against the hub 2, one end of the inner spindle is associated with a cam 7 controlled by a radial lever 9 and acting frictionally against a cap 10 to urge it against the outer surface of the lug 11 against the action of a spring 16, whilst the other end of the inner spindle is drawn inwards to clamp the cap 4 on the outer surface of the lug 12. The cap 4 is clamped to the spindle 3 by a grub screw 5. The opposite end of the spindle 3 has an eye 6 in which a stud 8 carrying the cam 7 is pivotally mounted. Springs 15, 16 urge the caps 4, 10 outwardly.
