Abstract
576,227. Cycle supports. FRENCH, G. F. Dec. 7, 1943, No. 20416. [Class 136 (i)] A cycle stand comprises an angled rod having a stem part 2 pivotally mounted in a tubular casing 1 for securing to the cycle frame, a foot part 3 and spring controlled means releasable by axial movement of the stem for angularly locating it with the foot part in an inoperative position in the plane of the cycle frame or turned outwardly to either side to form a lateral support. The locating means comprise a tooth 15 on the stem 2 and three notches in a bush 5 mounted in the tube 1. A compression spring (not shown) within the casing 1 presses the stem 2 upwardly to maintain the tooth 15 in engagement with the middle notch corresponding to the inoperative position, or with either outer notch corresponding to the operative positions of the stand. The tooth is disengaged from the notch 5 by pressing down a handle 12 by turning which one of the other two notches may be engaged. The handle 12 is adjustably mounted at 13 in an extension 10 of the member 2. A rubber foot 4 is mounted on the foot part 3.
