Abstract

444,493. Lubricating-pumps. BLISS, J., 30, Cheapside, London. Sept. 20, 1934, No. 27112. [Class 102 (i)] A lubricating-pump comprises a number of cylinders 32, radiating from a casing 10, and operated by a cam 23, which is loosely mounted on a stationary spindle 20 and driven by worm gearing 22, 56. The worm shaft is driven by a lever 60 and ratchet gearing or by a hand crank. The pumps are supplied from a reservoir 11 containing stationary paddles 27, secured to the spindle 20, and a revolving scraper 25 and paddle 31, secured to the cam 23. The suction ports 39 of each pump are controlled by the plunger, and the discharge ports 40 are controlled by a sleeve valve 42, which is moved by a projection 37 on the plunger in order to ensure the discharge of air. The amount of oil discharged is controlled by a free plunger 49, movement of which is controlled by a cap 51 screwing on the exterior of the pump barrel.
