Abstract

389,558. Lubricating rotary compressers. SANDERS, J. B., 57, Tettenhall Road, Wolverhampton. Nov. 5, 1931, No. 30724. [Class 12 (ii).] In a rotary compresser comprising a gyratory piston 8 operated by an eccentric 9 on a shaft 4 and moving in the bore of a casing 5 which is concentric with the shaft, with an abutment on the piston slidably engaging a groove in the casing, a circular disc 19 is pressed by a spring 31 and a plunger 32 on to the face of the cover 6, and is revolved by an eccentric 20 so as to control the outlet ports of the working chamber. An oil reservoir 22 communicates by way of an axial port and a radial passage in the cover 6 with the shaft. The disc valve may or may not operate to uncover the oil inlet port once per revolution, or the port may be always covered, the rotary motion of the disc relatively to the cover 6 causing oil to enter the port. An oil level plug 33 is provided. The shaft could be fixed and the casing rotate.
