Abstract

398,719. Rotary compressors. BOSCH AKT.-GES., R., 4, Militõrstrasse, Stuttgart, Germany. Jan. 31, 1933, No. 2948. Convention date, Feb. 9, 1932. [Class 110 (ii).] The compressor, which may be built into an armature 14 of an electric-driving motor, is provided with a passage 27 connecting the suction and pressure chambers 22, 23, until a spring- loaded piston valve 30 is forced upwards by the pressure of the lubricating oil to close the connecting ports 27, 28, 29. By this means the starting torque on the motor is decreased. A casing 10 is secured to the armature 14 and two end caps 11, 12, and drives a piston 15 around a fixed eccentric 16 on a fixed shaft 13, through a connecting vane 21 hinged to the casing 10. Fluid to be pumped enters passages 24, 17 into the space 22, and is delivered through passages 18, 25. Lubricating oil, whose level is 35, enters radial ports 37 to a space 39 and is conveyed up a helical groove 34 to a passage 33 and so to the underside of a piston valve 30. In a modified arrangement the piston valve is arranged within the lower of two pins upon which the vane 21 is hinged.
