[Class 110 (ii)] The pump, compressor, or motor, comprises two sets of piston vanes 5 projecting axially from a central disc 2 across working chambers 10, and two sealing rotors 1, each with a disc 3 and axial projections 4, which also extend across the width of each working chamber. A driving shaft 20 and a driven shaft 21, are coupled by gears 22, 23. End members 6a have extensions 11 which form the inner walls of the chambers 10. For balancing purposes on the sealing segments, recesses 1d and le are in communication with the inlet and outlet ports 7, 8, respectively. In a modification to be used with compressible fluids, a stator extension fills in the space within the sealing segments 4, except for the recess P. For pumping liquids against high pressure, a second recess P may be positioned opposite the space P, across the axis of the sealing rotor, the two spaces being in communication with each other. The radius of the surface forming the lower side of P in this compressor may vary. Recesses 5a in the vanes allow fluid under pressure to balance the loads on the outside of the vanes. The number of vanes may differ from the number of sealing segments, i.e. the rotors 1, 2 may rotate at different speeds.
