443,655. Seats ; back-rests. TANSAD CHAIR CO. (1931), Ltd., Foundry Lane, Birmingham, and GABB, A. H., 3, Western Road, Horfield Common, Bristol. Nov. 8, 1934, No. 32073. [Class 52 (ii)] A frame for a seat, particularly a vehicle seat, comprises a U-shaped resilient frame, the limbs of the frame being horizontal, with a seat b mounted on the upper limb a<1> and a back-rest connected to the rear extremity of the lower limb a<3>. The back-rest c is mounted on horizontal pivots a<3> on uprights a<5> secured by adjustable clamps a<4> to the lower limbs of the seat frame. The back rest c may comprise a tubular frame in which a panel c<1> of strip steel, woven mesh, fabric &c. is suspended by tension springs c<2>. The tilting of the back rest on the pivots a' may be frictionally or hydraulically controlled.
