Abstract

442,589. Tooth-extractors. MITCHELL, G. D., 971, Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow. Aug. 1, 1934, No. 22392. [Class 81 (ii)] An appliance for extracting the teeth of horses and cattle comprises a shaft E provided with a handle G and having mounted thereon a jaw member A having a screw and nut engagement with the shaft at D, and a counterpart jaw member B freely mounted on the shaft against a shoulder C. The jaw members are provided with cam surfaces A<1>, A<2>, B<1>, B<2> which, on rotation of the shaft, are engaged with one another and cause the tooth-engaging extremities of the jaws to approach and grip a tooth of the animal. A movable fulcrum F may be mounted on the shaft.
