Abstract

280,616. MacLanachan, W. July 19, 1926. Pliers.-Pliers &c. having the blade or jaw members A', B<1> pivoted together at one end F and operated by a lever-arm C pivoted to member A<1> at G have a cam slot in the arm C engaging a pin K on member B<1> so that the leverage is maintained constant, or is increased as the jaws &c. close. According to the first Provisional Specification the positions of pin and slot may be reversed, and the pin, together with the fulcrum pins, may be shaped so that the parts may be separated in the extreme position of the blade &c. members.
