[Classes 61 (ii) and 61 (iii)] In pliers &c. of the kind described in Specifications 11352/13 and 152,452, [both in Class 61 (ii)], having a loose gripping jaw urged towards a fixed jaw carried by a rigid handle by means of an operating lever and a pair of racks, the loose gripping jaw 2 is of bifurcated formation to straddle a rack 5 projecting from the member 3 carrying the other jaw 1, the operating lever 4 being pivoted to the other rack 6. A spring 7 maintains the parts in adjusted position.
